Develop and engage in the collaborative and social aspects of writing processes

From early in the semester to its finale, group work has been an essential component of the writing process. At first it was simple things like outlines and memos, but as the semester progressed so did the group work. The last thing that we did, which was the engineering proposal, took a lot of constant communication and collaboration. Each person had to contribute a large amount to the group, due to the sheer size of the project. The final presentation also allowed us to directly engage with the class, as each member talked about a certain part of the proposal.

Part of working together in a remote setting, was adapting your communication resources to best fit your current needs. Instead of meeting up in a library or at someone’s house to discuss ideas, we utilized Discord, an online social communication platform. Here is a screenshot:
